Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced that Seven Seas Navigator will depart its fleet in late 2026, marking the end of a remarkable era for the luxury cruise line. The 1999-built ship is set to be transferred to Crescent Seas, a newly established brand specialising in luxury residences at sea, as part of a $230 million deal with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings.
“For over a quarter of a century, the Seven Seas Navigator has provided a home away from home to hundreds of thousands of Regent guests, visiting every corner of the world, creating unforgettable memories,” stated Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, in a statement sent to guests. “While I know that the Seven Seas Navigator is a favourite to many of you, and we are truly grateful for her years of service, it feels that it is the right time to bid adieu to this wonderful ship.”
The Seven Seas Navigator, originally constructed at the T. Mariotti shipyard using a hull designed for a Russian research vessel, embarked on its maiden voyage for Regent Seven Seas Cruises on 7 September 1999. The 490-guest luxury vessel has since become a staple of the fleet, known for its intimate atmosphere and exceptional service.
Regent Seven Seas Cruises will commemorate the ship’s legacy with a series of special events and onboard programs leading up to its final voyage. The farewell cruise is scheduled for 2 October 2 2026, sailing from Istanbul, Turkey, to Alexandria, Egypt.
The company’s announcement also highlighted its future plans, emphasising the arrival of two new Prestige-class vessels in 2026 and 2030. “We have never been more excited about the future of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand,” the statement continued, noting that the new ships will offer “even more opportunities to see the world.”
“Join us over the next 18 months to say goodbye to the Seven Seas Navigator in your own special way and celebrate the ending of an incredible chapter of the Regent Seven Seas Cruises story,” the company urged its loyal guests.
The transition to Crescent Seas will see the Seven Seas Navigator transformed into a floating residential community, offering a unique lifestyle for those seeking permanent or extended-stay luxury at sea. This new venture underscores the evolving landscape of the cruise industry, with innovative concepts emerging to cater to diverse travel preferences.
According to the company, Navigator will be the first of five cruise ships from Crescent Seas and it will receive a $50 million dollar renovation ahead of its first cruise with the new cruise line in December 2026.

Russell W. Galbut, a founding partner of Crescent Heights and a leader in the cruise industry, gave the following statement:
“After spending so much time on the seas, we noticed that travellers yearned for more. People on the ships kept telling us they wanted to live this luxurious lifestyle. So, we decided to select ships with the right configurations to convert to the most magnificent cruising yachts.“
“After hand-selecting this ship, we hired the same experienced management teams to operate the ship for the first 10 years of operations. We are delighted to be able to provide luxury homes to people that will carry them to places they’ve only dreamed of.”
The cruise line is set to offer extended, immersive voyages designed to traverse all seven continents, with each port of call receiving a dedicated two-to-three-day stay. This extended timeframe allows passengers to deeply explore some of the planet’s most remote and captivating destinations, ranging from the idyllic lagoons of French Polynesia and the rugged, windswept beauty of the Faroe Islands to the unique and diverse ecosystems of Madagascar, promising an unparalleled global adventure.
The ship will have 210 residences that can be purchased, with prices ranging from $800,000 to $8 million. Residents will enjoy white-glove butler service and Starlink internet connection to allow them to “work from home”.
The residences on the cruise ship will go on sale on April 9, 2025 with a sales gallery in Miami for prospective buyers.
