MSC Cruises’ loyalty programme, MSC Voyagers Club can be quite tricky to understand, yet once you understand how you progress to each tier, you’ll soon see just how rewarding MSC’s loyalty scheme is compared to others in the cruise industry.
Signing up
If you’ve already booked your first MSC cruise then you should automatically become an MSC Voyagers Club member. Visit the MSC Voyagers Club area on the MSC website to check your status. If you’ve yet to cruise with MSC and haven’t already used MSC Status Match to match your loyalty status with the cruise line, hotel, or tour operator you are most loyal to, then do that now. Find out more information here on how to do that.
Membership Tiers
MSC Voyagers Club has five membership tiers. These are:
Welcome (0 points)– You will be enrolled in the MSC Voyagers Club once you have booked your first MSC cruise. This will give you access to the members area on the MSC website, as well as membership newsletters, and pre-release sales when new ships, or itineraries launch.
Classic (1-2,199 points) – After your first cruise, you will become a Classic member. This will give you 5% off selected future cruises, membership luggage labels, special onboard offers, plus a welcome onboard cocktail.
Silver (2,200-4,299 points) – When you reach Silver status, you’ll receive all the benefits of Classic membership, plus a milestone reward, and complimentary fruit basket.
Gold (4,300-9,999 points) – Once you’ve reached Gold status, you’ll receive all the benefits of Classic and Silver, but you’ll also receive a complimentary one-hour session in the Aurea Spa thermal area, an MSC Voyagers Club gift, priority tender tickets, a complimentary photo from the photo gallery, plus a complimentary cake when celebrating a birthday.
Black (10,000+ points) – Black status is the highest loyalty tier with MSC Cruises. You’ll get all the benefits of Classic, Silver, and Gold, in addition to priority embarkation and disembarkation, a complimentary dinner in a speciality restaurant, spumante with chocolate-dipped fruit in your cabin, complimentary bathrobes and slippers, free dancing class, a chocolate ship model, and late cabin check-out disembarkation.
How do you earn points?
Unlike most cruise line loyalty programmes, which are based upon how many cruises you’ve been on, or the number of nights you’ve spent onboard, MSC Voyagers Club is different. Instead, you progress through each level depending on the ‘experience’ you book, the length of the cruise, and how much you spend onboard.
Experience | Cruise under 5 nights | Cruises from 5 to 9 nights | Cruises of more than 9 nights |
Bella | 200 points | 500 points | 700 points |
Fantastica | 400 points | 700 points | 1000 points |
Aurea | 600 points | 1000 points | 1500 points |
MSC Yacht Club | 800 points | 1500 points | 2000 points |
You also earn membership points by spending money on MSC services and onboard your cruise. For every €150 you spend on things like excursions, drinks packages, shipboard credit, etc., before your cruise, you’ll earn 100 membership points. You will also earn 100 points for every €150 you spend onboard, such as in the shops or on drinks. Money spent in the casino will not count towards the total.
As you can see, the MSC Voyagers Club loyalty scheme is very rewarding, especially if you register for the MSC Status Match scheme.
