Celestyal Discovery has returned to service following an extensive winter refurbishment in Athens. The 1,360-passenger ship kicked off its 2025 Greece and Mediterranean season with a three-night Iconic Greek Islands cruise departing from Athens on March 21.
As part of the refit, the former AIDAaura gained 47 new cabins, including 32 suites, expanding its premium accommodations by 52%. Additionally, 15 interior Cosmos Cabins were introduced, increasing overall capacity by 7.4%.
Among the new suite options are 30 Junior Dream Suites, each spanning approximately 269 square feet and featuring balconies of over 60 square feet. The ship now features a newly constructed forward deck housing two Grand Horizon Suites, positioned above the bridge. These spacious suites measure 452 square feet and include separate living areas along with expansive balconies of nearly 164 square feet.
Dining enhancements include the introduction of Smoked Olive, an exclusive restaurant for suite guests offering complimentary meals with optional à la carte selections for a small fee. The ship also features Grill Seekers, a pop-up evening venue serving cuisine inspired by the destinations on the itinerary.
Since joining Celestyal’s fleet in November 2023, Celestyal Discovery has undergone major upgrades, including refreshed social spaces, revamped staterooms, a new coffee bar called Cafe Nation, and complimentary dining venues such as The Pizza Oven and the poolside Greek Deli.
“This latest refit reinforces our commitment to constantly evolving our guest experience and offering out-of-this-world value,” said Lee Haslett, Celestyal’s Chief Commercial Officer. “Our stunning upgrades, including two new cabin categories, provide guests with even more home comforts and choice, in line with demand for premium and spacious accommodations.”
Celestyal Discovery will operate three- and four-night Iconic Greek Islands cruises from Athens between March and November, with stops in Mykonos, Kusadasi, Patmos, Rhodes, and Santorini.
