Just days after a FlowRider blog post ‘leaked’ that Royal Caribbean’s new ship would be called Symphony of the Seas, we’ve seen more permanent confirmation that this is indeed the case.
A photo has emerged which shows the letters S-Y-M-P-H-O welded onto the ship.
Welding of the name has started taking place on one of the aft sections that will form Symphony of the Seas, which is currently under construction at the STX France shipyard in Saint Nazaire.
Royal Caribbean is yet to formally announce the name of the new ship, but it is highly unlikely that the new Oasis-class ship would be called anything different, now that ‘Sympho’ has been welded to the ship.
The new 227,000 GT ship is due to launch in April 2018 and will likely feature the same amenities, such as Bionic Bar and the Ultimate Abyss, as sister ship Harmony of the Seas.
