Riviera Travel, the UK’s leading escorted tour company, has launched a new competition which will see two travel agents named godmothers of the company’s two new 5-star river cruise ships, Thomas Hardy, and Emily Brontë.
The Godmothers will be flown out to the christening ceremony of the two ships in the Netherlands to carry out the time-honoured tradition of smashing champagne bottles against the ships’ hulls, before enjoying a three-course meal and entertainment on board.
“Despite having over 30 years of award-winning experience in the industry, this is in fact the first time we have officially christened our river cruise ships and given them their all-important Godmothers,” said Ben Hitchcock, Marketing Director at Riviera Travel. “Our travel agents are such a vital part of our business that we felt it was only right to honour them by making them the ships’ first Godmothers.”
Each of the new ships will carry up to 169 guests, in all suite accommodations.
Travel agents can enter the competition by answering the question, “which is the third new river cruise ship to be announced for this year by Riviera Travel, in addition to the Thomas Hardy and the Emily Brontë?” Entries can be e-mailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The deadline for agents to enter is February 3, 2017, and the naming ceremony will be held on February 24, in Amsterdam.
