German-based cruise line, Phoenix Reisen, has unveiled that it will charter a new cruise ship from summer 2016. Currently sailing as World Odyssey for Semester At Sea, the new addition, which is to be reverted back to being named Deutschland, will home-port in Bremerhaven, operating various Northern Europe itineraries.
As part of the five-year summer charter between May and September, Deutschland will be repainted into Phoenix Reisen’s iconic turquoise colours, in addition to a major refurbishment which will see French Juliet balconies installed to Deck Seven and Eight.
Itinerary highlights include a seven- and thirteen-night Norwegian Coast sailing; a thirteen-night Baltic cruise with visits to St Petersburg and Stockholm; and a ten-night British Isles cruise with ports of call to London, the Isle of Wight, Cornwall, Dublin and Scotland. All itineraries will depart from Bremerhaven.
Deutschland will continue to operate as World Odyssey with Semester At Sea in the winter season.
