P&O Cruises Australia’s upcoming cruise ship, Pacific Explorer is set to feature new water slides and a children’s water park when she makes her debut in June 2017.
Currently sailing with Princess Cruises as Dawn Princess, the 2,000-passenger ship will feature many popular venues found on her future fleet mates, as well as new dining and entertainment options.
The first water park on a P&O ship, the area will be located inside the funnel structure, currently used as the sports court on Dawn Princess. This will also be the entrance to the two water slides, which spiral alongside the outer funnel structure.
The P&O Edge activity park at the front of the ship will feature several outdoor activities, including a zip line.
A gourmet Pizzeria will overlook the Central Atrium, along with an expanded Salt Grill by Luke Mangan, plus a new Lobster & Burger Bar located on the pool deck.
Black Circus Cabaret Club will be an all-new experience on Pacific Explorer, where guests can enjoy a dinner and show.
“We’ve taken the winning features of our existing ships, then added a whole new layer of excitement with some big wow moments like the waterslides as well as new concepts like the bowling green and a stunning hidden bar, which we think will put a smile on our guests’ faces,” said Sture Myrmell, president of P&O Cruises Australia.
Dawn Princess will enter dry dock in Singapore, before launching as Pacific Explorer in June 2017.
