Hurtigruten is to add a new ship to its fleet in 2016. Built in 2009 as the ferry Atlantida, the ship will spend the next several months in drydock being converted.
Norway Explorer, as the ship will temporarily be named, will carry 320 guests on sailings along the Norwegian coast. The ship will take over sailings from Midnatsol, which will be repositioning to Antarctica in 2016.
The new ship will then offer Arctic sailings in summer 2017, when Midnatsol returns to her usual Norwegian sailings.
