Royal Caribbean International has announced that Empress of the Seas will homeport in Tampa for the 2017 summer season, which will also offer sailings to Cuba.
Empress of the Seas will make its first visit to Cuba on April 19, during a five-night cruise from Miami. The ship will then reposition to Tampa, offering two further calls to Havana, Cuba. A seven-night sailing will depart on April 30, followed by a five-night sailing on May 20.
The ship will then spend the summer operating four-, and five-night sailings, details of which will be announced at a later date.
“Royal Caribbean is the world’s most exciting adventure company, and we’re thrilled to introduce culture-seeking travellers to Cuba. As the unrivalled innovators of the cruise experience, no company is better positioned to help adventurers explore and experience this culturally rich destination,” said Michael Bayley, President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International.
It is the first time that Royal Caribbean has based a ship in Tampa for the summer season. Rhapsody of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas will both offer Caribbean cruises from the port during the winter season.
Empress of the Seas’ cruises to Cuba are on sale now.
