Construction Starts On New Luxury Crystal River Ships

Construction has started on Crystal Cruises’ two new river ships, Crystal Debussy and Crystal Ravel.

The steel cutting, which formally marks the beginning of construction, took place on January 9 at the MV Werften shipyard in Germany.

Edie Rodriguez, Chairman, CEO and President, Crystal Cruises, said: “Today is another crowning achievement in the growth of the Crystal brand, as we take another step closer in further delivering the growing demand for a true luxury experience on Europe’s rivers.”

Both ships are scheduled to enter service in Spring 2018, and will sail along the Rhine, Danube, and Moselle rivers. Each ship will carry 106 guests in 55 luxuriously appointed suites. Onboard features will include a pool and fitness centre, in addition to restaurants, bars and lounges.
