Carnival Splendor To Transfer To P&O Australia As Company Scraps Plans For New Build

Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Splendor is to transfer to the P&O Cruises Australia fleet in 2019, after the Australian cruise line decided to scrap plans to build a new ship.

Instead, Carnival Cruise Line will receive a third 133,500 GT Vista-class ship, set to debut in late 2019.

Carnival Splendor will transfer to the P&O Cruises Australia fleet in late 2019, when Carnival’s new ship launches.

Carnival Vista launched this year in Europe, with a second ship, Carnival Horizon, launching in March 2018. The new ship will be the third ship in the Vista-class.

The ship will offer many of Carnival’s most popular guest features, a wide range of accommodation types and a number of new innovations unique to the vessel.

The ship’s name, homeport and itinerary details will be announced at a later date.
