P&O Cruises’ Azura has remained in the the port of Ponta Delgada overnight, after experiencing propeller issues.
The ship was due to depart at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, but has remained in port overnight, awaiting parts to be flown over to the Azores from Germany and the UK. According to passengers onboard, the Captain is due to make a further announcement regarding the issues at 6 p.m. this evening.
The cruise ship departed Southampton on Friday and is currently on a transatlantic sailing bound for the Caribbean, which will be its home for the winter months. The ship is scheduled to arrive in St Maarten on November 7, although it is not known if the ship will still arrive on schedule.
P&O Cruises has remained quiet about the incident.
