Azamara Club Cruises has announced plans for a major refurbishment of their two intimate vessels, Azamara Journey and Azamara Quest in 2016.
The upgrades will see new venues added, including a new Pan-Asian restaurant. Although Azamara are yet to divulge specific details about the refurbishment, Larry Pimentel told USA Today that no area of the vessels will be left untouched, stating “By April of next year we will have two ships that essentially are brand new.”
Cabins and onboard spaces will receive a refresh, as well as a new spa area and two new spa suites as well as ship-wide WIFI coverage. Azamara Journey will be the first to enter drydock in the Bahamas in January 2016, while sister-ship Azamara Quest will receive her refurbishment in Singapore in April 2016.
Larry Pimentel, President and CEO of Azamara Club Cruises, said:
“We are best known for our Land Discoveries programs which have enabled us to boast an unprecedented number of repeat guest bookings as well as strong back to back voyage reservations. As we continue to evolve our destination immersive offerings, we also want to ensure our onboard experience is modernized to meet guests’ every need.
“We can’t wait for our ships to come out of dry dock as these major upgrades are going to have an instant impact on our guests’ experience. Each corner of the ships will have a new look and feel, setting a brighter, more contemporary ambiance, while the new venues will bring guests fresh experiences. We’re also investing in new onboard innovations and have paid close attention to the smallest of details. We really are redefining our onboard experience in every way.”
