AmaWaterways has announced plans to launch the largest ever river cruise ship in 2019.
AmaMagna will be twice as wide as standard river cruise vessels and accommodate 194 passengers in 97 ocean-style cabins.
The ship will have multiple dining venues, and new onboard features, such as a water sports platform, with zodiacs, canoes and other recreational equipment.
“As the luxury river cruise market continues to grow, we want to carry on as the leader in industry innovation,” said President of AmaWaterways, Rudi Schreiner. “While this new double-width concept has been on the table for some time, we believe, given the unique demand that exists, that now is the perfect moment to introduce this style of ship.”
Construction on the new ship began at the start of March and will enter service on the Danube in 2019. Itineraries will be released later this month.
