AIDA Cruises has announced the name of its upcoming 180,000 GT Helios-class cruise ship.

AIDAnova will be built at the Meyer Weft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with a float-out date of August 2018.

AIDAnova will operate a seven-day itinerary from Gran Canaria and Tenerife starting in December 2018, and will visit Madeira, Lanzarote, and Fuerteventura.

AIDAnova will build upon the successful features found on AIDAprima and just-launched AIDAperla. When launched, AIDAnova will offer 17 restaurants and 23 bars.

Cruises go on sale Thursday morning (June 1).
