This first thing you’re likely to see when boarding a cruise ship is the atrium. They’re the heart of the ship, and are all very impressive in their own unique way, but here are our top 5 favourites that really make us go WOW!
At the heart of the atrium on P&O Cruises’ Britannia, is the stunning Starburst sculpture that gently twinkles in the three-deck-high space.
With a real tree suspended in the lift shaft, Celebrity Cruises’ Celebrity Eclipse‘s atrium is a thing of beauty.
Although perhaps not to everyone’s taste, Costa Luminosa has a bold and colourful atrium. The beautiful blown-glass chandeliers and giant Buddha statue work well with the eccentric Italian design. Looking several decks up, the glass ceiling lets in natural daylight, which not all too many atriums achieve.
The atrium on Independence of the Seas is impressive. The multi-coloured bridge is the perfect backdrop for formal night photos.
Perhaps the most beautiful chandelier on a ship, the simple – yet elegant – 678 Ocean Place atrium on Norwegian Getaway is magnificent.
